Tractor Question

New 6.4 Ford

Well, some of you might remember I built a separate fuel system to catch excess water in fuel.

That setup is fuel cell>separator>pump>filter>main tank. I have not added fuel directly to my main tank since I installed the setup. I have a FASS on the main tank so that setup is main tank>separator>pump>filter>IP/tank return.

I found (through my complete stupidity) that water will emulsify instantly if it is ran through a pump, and if it emulsifies prior to a separator, it will pass through your filters. And since this is the set up on most stock dodge trucks... ever wonder why you never see water??

Well, I have been running this setup for a while now and I have gotten almost a gallon of water. It appears this ULSD has an affinity for water. I have never had this problem before the intro of ULSD...

So I'm just posting these findings as an FYI...

I tend to have to agree about more water in ULSD. Every time I take my fuel cap off for refueling this winter I notice frost in the filler tube. Not a whole lot but some. I have never seen frost in the filler neck before ULSD came out.
