i ordered a 5" system from big exhaust today and i wanted to get the flow through muffler. however after talking with the salesman (which was very helpful) he explained to me that they have done alot of testing and found that the baffled muffler actually performed better than the flowthrough, mainly because the baffles provide some back pressure to aid the turbo in spooling up. he said that he has had a number of people call back and complain about laggy trucks after the flowthourgh muffler was installed and the problem was solved after the baffled one was installed. does this sound right, and has anyone had experience with this. he did say that if i didnt like the baffled muffler that i could just bust the gutts out of it. thanks to all

spending some of that money,,huh ??

my muffler is flow through,,,does my truck have any lag ?:D :D

was their testing done on a stock truck or one with a little extra fuel being added ?

p/s: use a band clamp at the bottom of the down pipe. makes it alot easier to install the new down pipe you'll need when you get a different turbo:D :D

The turbo IS backpressure. Line O' Crap they got there.

My turbo felt quicker and sounded better when I took the stock muffler off. NOW it IS better-- feels as quick and sounds sooo much better with gutted big-truck muffler! I may drop back to a resonator only. Yeah, I need some back pressure, how about a 2" exhaust.

Want faster spool? Add more fuel!
