Your last reply prompted, another question. Please tell me what the Horton Fan Clutch is. These OEM fan clutches cool OK but I'm sure they suck up some horsepower.

horton is a very good product, they have been making fan clutchs for big trucks for a long time. the stock fan can rob 10-15 horsepower off the engine. the horton replaces the stock fan clutch, not sure if they give u another fan or not. you also get an override switch so u can engage the fan manualy, a high pressure switch that screws in the air condition line and another sensor that goes in the head for the water temperature. say u are sitting in traffic and the air condition is on no air is flowing throught the condenser so line pressure will rise and the a/c high pressure switch will cycle the fan to pull air through. really a nice setup if u have about 800. 00 dollars to spend. did i cover it pretty good guys?:)

covered very well

Good job Jerre,

In addition to the above comments I can tell you all that all Kenworth big rigs equipted with Cummins power plants come stock with the Horton fan... ... ... this tells you something.

$800 coin is a pretty chunk and with the given econimacal gains of the Horton I would think it could be paid for in the life of the truck. I too want one but always seam to spend the bucks on other mods , hopefully I will get a Horton some day... ... ... ... Kevin

I'm going to be installing one on our new KME volunteer fire engine. You sit right over the engine and the direct drive fan is entirely too loud. The ISC 330 is too loud with it and you cant hear your self talk or the radio. You always have to yell at people riding in the rear seats. The Ladder truck has a Horton on the ISM 350 Cummins and you can wisper to each other and hear fine when going down the road. They really work good for our applications.

Horton

I have had one for six years now. I would not be without it. In the winter it is almost never needed. Summertime in the Las Vegas traffic it pays for itself. I just leave it locked up most of the time. It does get a little noisey above 2000 rpm but that is the only drawback.
