To Drill or not

I am going to install my gauges do I have to drill the manifold or the turbo or are there holes already there. I am putting in Auto meter boost gauge ,a transmission gauge,and a pyrometer. Thanks mike

Manifold has to be drilled if you go pre turbo. its not as bad as it sounds. do a search and there are lots of threads on how to do it.

I did mine with no problems

Mike, I drilled mine in the manifold in the vertical part, just above the turbo. Drilled a small pilot hole and then the finish hole. The iron is soft.



I taped over the exhaust 3/4 with duct tape and drilled the holes with the engine idling. I shut if off before I tapped it, but filled the tap with grease to catch the cuttings.



No problems at all.

If I turn my pac brake on before I drill, would it have the same effect as taping the exhaust pipe?

yep... make sure to wear safety goggles while doing this. you don't want drill shavings hitting your eyes
