To EZ or not to EZ?

Just took delivery of my new 2003 QC, HO with 48RE. Want to add EZ for a performance mod. Edge's web page says to remove EZ prior to returning to Dealer for maintenance. Nowhere can I find if the onboard computer retains the info that a electronic modification has been made to the engine. If the unit (EZ) is removed temporarily, to be installed at a later date, can the Dealer tell from the download? EZ's caveat implies there is no lingering trail of the mod for the Dealer to detect.

This is my first venture into electronic controlled engines. My other truck is a '95 CTD with hydro/mechanical controls.

I have the same question. I know in my 00, 01 and 02 the EZ was not detectable even with their scanner hooked up while the EZ was on line. Is there a bird dog in the 03 computer that tattle tales if we have had an EZ hooked up???????

I grilled kieth at Diesel Dynamics about this before I bought mine and he claims that they could not.
