My pick-up is a w-350 club cab 4X4. I have seen other newer trucks with stacks, but not many 1st gens with them. I am thinking of putting two 5" angle cut chrome stacks in the bed that will stick up only enough to just see the top of the tips from the front, and similar to how many of the other guys have done it with couplers. I was wondering what the first gen crew thought? Also, from those that have done it, how does it sound with no muffler, is it too loud, and what if any problems did you encounter? Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Russell

I want to stack mine bad. But the only thing is it is a 2wd and will look kinda dumb. I think stacks are awsome by the way. I have lots of friends around here with stacks. Bill

I did run into a couple of problems when installing my stacks... .

I could not find a shop to expand 4" pipe so I decided to use stainless flex instead. It's a bit tight under the bed of my regular cab, but you should have plenty of room with the CC. If you have a rear slider window, you may want to raise the top of the stacks at least a couple of inches above the top of the cab to avoid sucking smoke in through the window while driving. The price difference between 3 foot, 4 foot and 5 foot tall stacks is minimal. So maybe you could get the next taller size and cut off the bottoms to adjust the height to your liking.

Stacks

How about some pictures of folks who have stacks!!

I know diesel359 from Missouri has one stack on his 93 d359 x-cab.

I watched him at the drag races at the Nationals

Dang it! It looked sharp,

I have a large inbed tool box that I really don't want to move back 4 or 5 inches but when ever I step up and buy a turbo and new exhast I plan on only a "half kit"and a stack

My Question is to go with turned tip, angle cut, straight with or w/o flappers?

With staight cut it only(echos) off bridges right?

I like the turned tip about 45deg back so hopefully ever big truck you pass you can hear it singing

Lets see some pictures

Have a great day and Roll the Coal

I LOVE MY STACKS:D

Here is a pic and what I did to take up the diff between the cab and the toolbox/fueltank, had a piece of checker bent and then I tooled out for the stacks to go thru. :)

cheers, Kevin

Thanks for the input guys! The smoke in the windo issue was one that I never thought of, I am going to have to rethink my desision here. Most of the time my a/c is on, or the heat is on, might not be too bad of an issue, I just don't want to run the stacks high, just enough to see when I go by.

Nice work on the chimmney work guys!

They're coming

I finally figured out how to run the pipe without cutting the bed or sleeper.

Going 4" straight with rain caps.

Stack it!!
