I've been very happy with the performance of my truck with the CaTCHER + mach 1. 5 edm's. I don't run in competion & I have little trouble keeping ahead with the pack on the freeway. :D Still, BOMBing is a bit addictive :rolleyes: & the tapped wire folks write such glowing reports that I'm getting really curious. Well, I gave in today & sent off for an APB from Blue Chip. Will curiosity kill the cat (VP44)? Chip Fisher tells my, mine is new enough to have a good chance of survival. I sure hope he's right. Time will tell.

Calculated risk/luck of the draw! ;)

Have had the Conp on my truck, with pierced wire, for over 30,000 miles - LOTS of :D :D :D :D

And NO :{ :{ :{

I recall reading that if the tap is going to be the direct cause the VP failure it will do so within the first 20 min. I only sweated it out for about 40 min before I started playing with my new toy ;)

With the catcher and 1. 5's, plus a fueling box on top of that, your truck will flat get it. Just make sure you don't play around with your clutch too much. My ofe has never slipped once it is locked up but I've spun right through it trying to build boost and dumping it. Thats why they make double disk clutches I guess.

My advice is to run some lubes in the tank before and after. Also to not run it hard the first day and becareful of sudden lifting of the throttle. A high number of pumps die this way.

Do it Richard! Will add about 150rwhp. I only use two (2) setting on mine. Off, cause I have the CaTCHER as you know, or ON kill, 5x5. Don't need nothing else.

Roger

No need to push me to hard any more. My check is on it's way to Blue Chip now & I have the BC pump cover to make the connection. I can hardly wait. Oo. ... to think I thought I'd out grown this kind of thing. :rolleyes:

Tap it but dont use the junk tapper solder the wires . I used the tapper it it gave me major fits.

I'm with Diesel Minded on this one. . I had all kinds of trouble until I soldered the wires on permanently. I started by fixing one at A time thinking that it would be cured. . Then one kept leading to another. . Now they are all fixed. My truck is still under warranty. ( Only until I bring it in to the dealership) never!

tap or not?

sounds like theres only 1 percent of us guys debating tapping the wire.

mine a 02' HO ,I have a comp usin it as a EZ,but the couriosity is really getting to me,mainly for warrenty reasons,and it acted up on me on a couple towing trips last summer,-no throttle response at all trying to accellerate leaving a town untill finaly pressing the clutch and its normal again. almost never a symtom daily driving,was thinking throttle sensor,but was told could be the VP44 (hense my hesitation tapping) was ready to order BC cover,but think I'll get a FASS system first. any helpfull advice,also like to hear from 80 hp injector users MPG ,EDM vs DD?

02 QC,HO,SPORT,white,COMP,4"STRAITPIPED,285'S,4WD,bed and below rockers sprayed,chrome rockers,rather be cummin than strokin rear sticker. :-laf

The only after market injectors I have personal experience with are my Formula 1 mach 1. 5 edm's. I uses tham with & without a EZ & now with my CaTCHER. As stand alone BOMBs I liked them better than the EZ sinc they seemed smoother on power delivery 7 yielded more power. My milage even improved 1 to 2 mpg & that before the fun :D factor wore off. Not to say it ever really did. :-laf

I'm still a little nervous about my VP44 & probably will be 'till it proves itself one way or the other when my APB is installed. Then it will either be :{ or Oo.
