To those of you that have had your 600 reflashed did they put a sticker under the hood stating that it had been done? I had my 2004. 5 reflashed for the 18-007-04 and the paper work from the dealer says it but no sticker any where. Thanks... . Adam
Yes, By law they are required to affix a sticker to the engine compartment of your truck when the reflash is done. I had the reflash done on March 26 and looked for the sticker when I got it back.
Picked up my truck yesterday. Engine was assembled 3-4-04. Have there been any new flashes released after that date? I assume Cummins would install any approved flashes available as of the build date.
yeah i looked everywhere under the hood and under the dash and on the inside of the door by the vin plate and nothing. Do they have to install a sticker, or could they have done the reflash and not installed one?
I have an early build (mid-January) and I while I have the slight "pinging" at 1800-2000 rpm that seems to be considered a byproduct of the third injection event, I have don't have any of the symptoms, namely hesitation or flat spots that this reflash is supposed to cure. I think also it might be a cold weather thing, and our cold weather is about over. Maybe next winter I'll notice something, and by that time, there will probably be another software flash anyway.
Friend of mine, and ocassional poster on this board has a very early build engine, he had some of the symptons, and all the reflash seemed to do for him was slighty reduce power.
Bottom line - I ain't havin' NOTHIN' reflashed unless I notice or feel something major.
By the way, I had the truck out today for it's first real good high speed whompin' - this thing ROCKS! You're doing 70 mph like THAT!:--)
