I have an 02' 3500 it has the camper package, tow, and snow plow package and it has a" limp wrist" open 3. 54 rear end!!! Cant understand this??? Local diesel shop wants $950 for TRAC-LOC and $300 to install..... sound steep????Does to me could put that $ in a converter!?!?!?!? Im off the beatin' path a lot and in deep snow a lot so something has to happen!!! What should I do Oh great TDR brothers of mine!!!! Anyone on here want to install it for me Id rather give you the money!!!???

Call around. Whne I was looking for the Detroit locker, I had price quotes varying by over $200. IT depended on who had sales going on that week or day. I was looking mail order and did the install myself. If you really depend on the thd limited slip working, I would stray away from the Trac lock. Every time it slips, it is wearing out. I went the route of restacking the trac loc, but I went ot tight and ended up with a spool. It never slipped. I ended up just doing what I should have done in teh first place and put a detroit in.

The 300 for the install sounds about right. If you are able to do it yourself, it is not that difficult if you have access to the required tools such as a 25 ton press, case spreader (absolutely needed), bearing puller, dial indicator, torque wrench, and a lift. THose center sections are awkward to handle on the ground.

I just looked at your sig. For about $750, you can get an ARB. Best of both worlds. Or a Detroit Tru-trac.

no ARBs yet for dana 80 3. 54 ratio only for the 4. 10 and lowerand a ARB for a dana 80 is more like 900 without air

Too bad you arent closer, I'd trade carriers with you. I have a 3. 54 pwr-loc and want an open diff for the wifes highway only truck.
