Just thought I'd share this. The first six switches are two position and the last four are three position, all cole herse 20A. The 120v recepticle is custom fab fed from a 2kw inverter under the back seat. Finished product could have been better, but I can live with it for now.

Looks great to me :D

So, watcha doin with all those switches?. How did you get the Kenwood to the top of the adaptor to make room for the switches?

Dane,

The switches, from left to right:

1 Turbo temp monitor

2 Inverter

3 Air Compressor

4 Smart Controller

5 Front Locker

6 Rear Locker

7 Back up lights

8 Exhaust Brake

9 Front Winch

10 Rear winch

The Kenwood and switches are mounted in a piece of 1/8th powdercoated aluminum attached to the bracket of the original cd/cassette stereo.

Nope. But I can take the trim cover off to expose it and give you a pict with some rulers for reference. It's not rectangle, there are little cutouts and such. Took a while to get it to line up, very tight fit with stereo and switches.

I've got a proper DIN adapter plate modeled up in CAD ready to be CNC'd, once I get ahold of some material to machine. The adapter will move the radio up to the top like LoneRam had as well as towards the passenger. More switches or possibly a comp box can be mounted to the left of the radio. I've also made the DIN adapter so that you screw it in from the sides instead of needing the cage and bezel, this should provide more room for switches.

One thing I would like to get ahold of is some switches that actually look good and are illuminated. Anyone have any suggestions on switch types? The kind that I have pictured are a bit big, expensive and hard to obtain in green.

LoneRam, what kind of switches are those and where would I be able to get a look at some online? Are they illuminated, if so can you get defferent colors?

Here is a pic of what it would look like coming though the bezel of the truck.

If you look real close you can see the tips are illuminated. When the switch is in the off position the tip is white and when it's on it's red. I wired them to the same circut as my guages so everthing dims. The swithes are Cole Herse brand, 20A, that I bought from West marine. They are a little pricey... okay, alot pricey. Around $16 each. But I like the way they look and could not bring myself to put radio shack plastic in, no offense intended to those who use their swithes.

Love the looks and am wanting to do something like this. Make sure to let us know when you get production up and what it will cost.
