I have been looking for a couple of days for 1410 u-bolt style yokes for my D70 and 205. I had called several places to no avail. Most places either told me they were unavailable. Others said they would check and call me back, but never did. One of my searches led me to Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts in Ogden, UT.

When I called, Tom answered the phone. I told him what I was looking for, and he started looking. He said there was one available for the Dana 70, but he didn't see anything for the rear of the 205. He thought for a minute and then told me how easy it would be to just modify a strap style yoke and make a u-bolt style out of it. He gave me a quote that I felt was reasonable so I ordered them. He called me back a little while later to let me know he had ordered everything and it should ship early next week. He was a pleasure to deal with and I just thought I would share it with ya'll.

Disclaimer: I've known Tom for many years

My first (and primary) exposure to him came at Moab's Easter Jeep Safari, where he established a pattern long ago of setting up a mobile driveline shop in town for the week. He'd typically work long into the night (like until 3 or 4 in the morning) repairing broken drivelines for people so they could continue to enjoy their vacation the next day, and be right back at the shop again first thing in the morning. Having customers in a position where they're desperate for help, he could have made a fortune by overcharging, but just the opposite is true--he usually charges only a pittance for this outstanding support. By delivering this kind of service, he's built up a large base of very loyal customers.

I've known a few business people who I can't say enough good things about, but none better than Tom Wood!

It sure does. I saw him remove a u joint by putting his finger on the end cap and tapping the yoke with a small hammer. :--)
