TomTomGo 300 or Garmin C320?

I know, I asked about GPS's last year but ended up not getting one. I was pretty much set on Garmin because they are the household name in GPS but then I saw TomTomGo 300 on some shopping network as I was channel surfing. It caught my attention and I ended up watching the show (I know I know).



Anyhow it was pretty impressive and easy so I compared the 2 on ebay and they seem very similar except TomTomGo seems like the better deal. You can find them both for about the same price except the Go 300 comes with 1GB of memory compared to 128MB with Garmin. Almost $200 more for the Garmin with 1GB. The Go 300 has allot of voices to choose also, no big deal but still a plus.



Anyone have experience with either and have any pro's or con's you want to throw out there?

I have the Garmin 330 (same as 320 but with 2. 2GB HD) and really like it. ONly beef is the screen is a bit reflective and you need to position it accordingly.

After more research I see the Go 700 which has a 2. 5GB hard drive, it is only about $750 and interfaces with your cell phone to make hands free calls and get weather/traffic updates. This unit looks very easy to use, has complete maps for U. S. and Canada pre loaded.



How does this differ from a Garmin (2620?) The price on those are double the go 700 and look relatively the same to me. . same size HD's, maps, it has a few buttons instead of full touch screen but I don't see any added features, infact it looks like less features but I would think there has to be something about it to be double the price.

The 2620 has more features than the 330. The 330 only generates one route at a time whereas the 2620 can have several routes preprogrammed in to it - either from a PC or on the unit. 330 generates one route at a time from the unit only, but you can take the unit out of the truck and play with anywhere on internal battery (3 hrs~).





330 routes are from one point (essentially a waypoint, although it called Favorites in the unit) to another. The 2620 can generate routes which include several waypoints. For example the 2620 could route you from NY to Dallas to San Diego to Los Angeles in one route whereas the 330 would go from from NY to Dallas as one route and then Dallas to SD as one route, etc.



Waypoints, tracks, routes and maps can be up/downloaded to a 2620.



Only waypoints can be up/downloaded to a 330. There is no "breadcrumb" track on the 330 although it does have a trip meter.



From the reviews I read the 330 copied a lot of the popular features of the Tomtom. It seems to be designed to be very easy to use and the routing is very good.

I bought my Garmin 2620 with accessories on the Internet for less than $1000, inclusive of next-day shipping. Hardly double the price.
