The tone ring on my 97 4x4 w/4wheel ABS has several damaged teeth. I dressed them up with a file, but the ABS still comes on. It's my understanding, you cannot buy just the tone ring. You have to buy the stub shaft w/tone ring on. I'm considering building up the damaged teeth with weld then, reshape them. Has anyone tried repairing it this way.

The pick up is a coil with voltage present and when the teeth pass a small current is generated, this is what the system reads so if you can get the teeth back to near where they were it should work. bg

Thanks to every one for your help. TBartlett1, I called Randy's ring and Pinion was able to order a new tone ring for about $11. 00+s/h. Nice people.
