I am looking into buying a retractable bed cover for my Megacab. I am in the military and constantly throw my gear in the back (so I need to be able to lock it). I need a retractable though so I can keep the functionality of my truck bed for large objects or a gooseneck trailer. I have looked up "roll n lock" and "jack rabbit" brands. What is the best retractable cover? Thanks for your input!!

Rollnlock is more money, my dad has that one nice cover and has held up good for over 3 years so far ,they have a good locking system to. The jack rabbit by pace edwards is junk ,I have one the clamps they use suck, the locking sysytem they use sucks, just doesn't slide as nice as the rolln lock too. They are not that far off in price either ,my cover is 4 years old and after 1 year the lock broke and it seemed I always had to adjust the rails every 3 months.

The Pace Edwards Jack Rabbit is on the '04. 5. The thing leaks in anything more than a drizzle. Definately getting worse with age and use.

Roll-n-lock for 6 years now. I needed it for the same reason you do. They are not watertight, so don't count on that (at least mine isn't). Mine needs to be adjusted on the rails to close tight, which seems to happen occasionally as it gets banged around. so far holding up well, good purchase although next time I'm putting a cap on.

I also had a Pace Edwards and definately would not recommend it. After about a year it was hard to slide and keep in adjustment plus you lose a about a foot in the front of the bed. And the lock was a PIA also. It was a lot of money for something that didn't work very well.

Just an update..... I put on a Roll-n-Lock cover today. The linex spray-in liner makes the rails a little tight (because it is sprayed over the rails), but other than that it looks great!! Thanks again!!
