Tonneau covers

Has anyone switched their tonneau covers or shell from their 2nd gen to their 3rd gen. I'm wondeing if the bed dimensions are the same. I would measure if I had both trucks close. I would like to put the tonneau from my '01 SB onto my '04. 5 SB.

Won't fit... the bed is about 3" shorter on the 3rd gen. I contemplated keeping my Leer shell from the '99 but decided there's no way I could make it work without it looking really lame.

There is also a width difference from front to back on the new ones. (Tapered - front width is bigger than rear by approx. 3"). So your gaps would be way off.
