Today I installed a Westach 0-16 fuel pressure gauge. I tapped into the bottom of the fuel filter because my vacuum pump would interfer with the banjo bolt on the CP3. When I completed the install, and fired it up the gauge instanly pegged out. I have not took it for a test drive yet, but the gauge remains at 16PSI once the key is turned on. Tomorrow I will run a 12 volt hot and see what the result are. Any thought? I have not seen any posts with 3rd Gen having over 12 LBS stock!

Thanks in Advance

Not grounded correctly!

On my 2001 the Westach FP gauge instructions said to make sure that the ground for the sender, and the gauge were at the same point. I don't remember on my 2006 Westach gauge if that was still the same... ;)

I figured out my problem. i crossed the leads when I went through the fire wall. When I switched them, I got proper readings. It idles at about 7-8 PSI and i can pull it down no farther than 5 PSI on a long full throttle hill run. I will hook it up to a trailer this week and see what she will do. I know this is much lower readings than my 2000, but all of the 3rd Gens seem to be in the low double digits to high single digits.

Is this what everybody else is seeing?

I also am concerned about my power level. I never get over 22 lbs of boost or 950 pre turbo EGT. The "book" says 26 lbs boost and I have heard many people on this board talk about EGTs in the 1200 range. Am I getting enough fuel? This has happened for a long time and I suspected fuel starvation, but that does not seem to be the case.

Your FP readings are normal. Your boost and EFT seem low. I can regularly see 30psi and EGTs in the 1150 to 1200 range when towing. As suggested, check to see if all your boost tubing connectors are tight. If they are, and you have no leaks, you might want to have it checked for fuel flow. Another thing to check is the air filter. Make sure it is clean. Don't depend on the idiot gauge (on the filter) to tell if it is restricted... ;)
