Well tonight did me no favors. I had to work on the left tail light which kept going out on me. Found that I had a corroded connector and it is fixed now.

Part of working on this required me to lower the spare tire down to work with the harness and trace out the wiring looking for a possible short. When I went to put the tire back up, well you all know  it is just a flat messy, dirty job to run it back up and keep it centered so it is just right and all that stuff. :( I'm getting tool old to keep getting this dirty trying to put a spare back in place.

I seem to remember some time back that someon had built a swing out spare that was on the back pumber for one of these trucks. Gets it out from under the truck and easier to get to when you need is.

Does anybody know who has plans for one or builds one of these spare tire carriers that looks good and is stout.

My favorite is the no-longer-available Paul Rickard bumper, shown here on TDR member Andy Perreaults' 97 Ram.

Complete with two hollow storage compartments Andy has said this is the only one ever made for a Dodge.

That's one I saw, darn bad he is not making them any more. Guess I will have to fire up my PlasmaCam and Miller 251 and get busy and see if I can make one that looks that good.

That is a sweet looking set up he made :)
