well I plunked down money on a '93 w 250 ext cab, with auto and 3:54's, LE w/air pwr windows and locks, everything works. shifts nice fluid looked good, has the factory under-bed transmission cooler. It was real cold last night and it started right off this morning with no smoke at all. Couple of rust spots blistering through on the pass side rocker. Noticed one front side ujoint was sloppy, Went down the road nice and fast, my frame of reference is my '82 Mercedes 240D, and an '86 C30 with a 292, so evrything seems fast to me... . Truck is 2 tone red with a grey middle, grey interior. It has 249k miles which is a good bit more than I wanted to have, but it's what I could afford...

Congratulations!! Happy to hear another first-gen is owned by a TDR member.

I wouldn't worry much about the miles on it - the Cummins is good for a long ways.

Congrats!!

Ahhh. The 292. Ran one for years in a 67 C-10. My son still has the truck and prefers it for towing over his 87 with a 350.

I am trying to convince him to get a CTD... .

Good Job

Good job on the purchase of the CTD. I grew up driving a 1978 C-20 with a 292. Good little engine (with the exception of exhaust manifolds). Has a lot of guts for no bigger than it is. I guess I will have a soft spot for those. I hope to restore Dad's truck someday. However, my CTD still rocks on any gas engine!
