Wrangler with 600 Cummins!!

Thanks SBC & Olee Poole

I am going to install my pyro, turbo pressure, and fuel pressure gauges soon. I understand you need a 7/16 inch drill bit to drill the hole for the pyro probe and then tap the hole for a 1/4 NPT(sp) fitting. My question is can you rent these tools from somewhere? or do you have to buy them for this job. Is there anyone in the SE wisconsin area that has these tools?

Thanks

Jake

Thease are general tools that are available at most any hardware store, Sears, Home Depot, Lowes and many others. Now is a good time to start a supply of tools if you are going to work on your truck.

There are a few TDR members in your area. In fact, we usually have bombing parties several times a year in different locations around WI. But with the dyno run in Schofield next weekend, and Muncie a few weekends after that, it may be a while before we have another bomb party.

Do you have a Farm and Fleet store near you? They have the 7/16 NPT tap.

1/4" npt pipe thread tap is the tap size, the drill size for that is 7/16". homedepot has this tap size in their hardware section as well as the drill size.

if the probe is 1/8" npt, the drill size is 11/32"

That's what I meant. Got ahead of myself.

Jake, great to see you made it over to TDR, sorry I dont have what your lookin for. I wish I was headin out of town or I would come help ya. Good luck and will get ahold of ya in June.

I'm thinking we be needin a Bomb party in July, got nothing going on during that month, Muncie in June, Scheids in Aug. I would love to have it here at my place but the vacant lot next door sold, no place to park. Any ideas anyone???

finished

Well, the gauges are finished. they look good, except for the pyro that has a white needle, but texas turbo said they would fix that, so there is a hole at the top, oh well, hopfully get the gauge tomorrow. I HIGHLY!!! recommend talking to them. they really helped me out and it was a great deal. The tap that I got was from Menards for 8 dollars, came with drill bit and tap. worked great. had to make a couple of trips to menards for fittings, but other than that, it was pretty easy to install, just time comsuming.

Now, my fuel pressure gauge reads 10 at idle, is it time to change the lifter pump?

Boost gauge reads zero at idle, my old truck read just a little above zero, is this normal?

Thanks for your help

Jake

Boost gauge at zero is normal, FP at idle for me is 15 to 16 depending on how she feels that day. I would look for a faulty lift pump. What's your cruise FP and WOT FP?
