I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what would be a better option, remove the torque plate or grind it down to a 0? My thinking is that it would probably better to grind the stock plate down rather than remove it, or just purchase a new plate. Can any damage occur from not having a torqe plate installed?

Id go with a 0. Supposedly you can cause some damage with no plate. The govenor arm will move to far forward without the plate in place eventually causing wear on the pump internals.
