I'm in the process of pulling my engine for some upgrades, repairs, and maintenance and stopped at the point where I was ready to unbolt the TC from the flexplate (It was getting dark and I owed the wife dinner out). Neither my factory manual or the Haynes gave a specific that I could find on accessing the bolts. How? Through the starter hole? Access plate underneath?

I had to pull the transmission and replace a broken flexplate on a 92 that I owned. I removed a plate or a plug in the passenger side of the bellhousing to access the TC bolts. I have an engine turning tool that goes in the rubber access hole on the passenger side and turns the flexplate. I would turn the engine until a TC bolt would align with the hole. I can look at my 96 that is sitting in the shop to refresh my memory and let you know for sure.
