Archived Trans cooler busted

Lifting and repplying throttle changes the load calculation on the engine. Lockup in 2nd gear is all about load percentage percentages.
 
He's solicited the help of a guy which used to be the Dodge Trans guy at the local dealer. they perfromed an amperage test on the trans circuit. while driving the truck the overdrive solonoid pulled 400mA as did the lock up solonoid. I assume thats the correct reading.



hes going to loop the trans lines to bypass the trans cooler temp valve, not sure why. if that doesn't do anything the trans is finally coming back out.

CERB, you were right it was in the TC! When they put the new TC together and was placing it on the welding machine the splines inside slipped causing the tollerance to be out of spec and allowing the internal splines to not mesh correctly. Pulled it apart and reassembled and now it works like a charm.

Glad you got it fixed in time for vacation. No one likes to admit to mistakes whether it is the trans builder, the TC builder, or the welder but they are human and stuff happens. The electronics on these trucks are a lot more sophisticated and stable than the 2nd gens. In situations like this it is easy to blame the electronics because they were frequently the problem. Anymore, in the absence of codes and obvious damage the problems are way more frequent with the hardware. Happens all the time. :)
