My torque converter and truck surges at low RPMs (like 1400) while in overdrive. Would the torque converter mystery switch help stop this by locking it up fully. This never happens at higher RPMs. I need a new converter and upgraded transmission, but I don't have the dough at this time. Thanks, Herb

If you wire the Mystery Switch as 3 position; forced lock, normal, and forced unlock, unlocking the convertor should stop the bucking at low rpms. However, I've been told that using the forced lock position on a stock transmission wasn't recommended because the convertor won't take it.

I installed a mystery switch after installing my Goerand transmission. The main reason was to lock the convertor when using the exhaust brake, but sometimes when on a hard pull, I'll unlock it briefly if EGT's are climbing too quickly. Transmission temps need to be monitored, though.
