After much thought and research, i am blaming my 15. 3+ 1/4 mile runs on a slipping torque converter, i may be way off base here, i along with those who saw/heard me run last weekend noticed a very significant lack of 1-2 trans performance, also not being able to do a burnout until about 2100 rpm, whats up with that??? i loved the way my truck ran when the torque converter locked, but there was nothing fun about a 2. 6 best 60 ft. i had the trans rebuilt with BD torque converter and valve body about 8 months ago i am guessing, it may have been a lil longer, lately it has been heating up, and has had pretty dissapointing 0-30mph performance. Will a better/different torque converter solve this??

Very much so. Once your convertor locked, it seemed like the truck pulled hard.

Maybe the torque convertor :confused:
 
thats what i was thinking, time for an upgrade, are there any catches/drawbacks to just replacing the converter?? by the way my brother just got his hands on a DTT 89% (swipe time)
 
well after alot of thought and talking with a SLIGHTLY knowledgeable chevy tech im thinking i am STILL dealing with the extreme lag of this jammer BB... went and flogged it last night and did a 15 psi launch (took a while to get there too) and it actually did pretty good, layed tire for about 30 feet and ran hard. sooo with that looks like i will be doin turbo swappage and go from there. . i was leaving the traps at about 5-8 psi because that is what has always been a sweet spot, but not necessarily the case here. any wisdom on this? do you smart guys think it is possible that this thing is just complete junk below 15 psi!? and after that just decent?? i did pass 1600 on the 15psi launch too by the way. . just took too much to build that boost that by the time i was on my way i was at about 1200*
