I'm still at the elementary stage and still learning. This is the first diesel I have ever owned.
Had a problem with the torque converter locking and unlocking between 40 and 50 MPH. Thanks to DTT I was able to go back to dealership and explain what was happening and was able to suggest a few TSBs that might fix the problem. A few hours later my computer flashed and I am back on the road driving like new again.
Through all of this I began realizing I do not know exactly what a TC actually does. Can someone explain to me how a TC works? When should it lock up and why I feel a nice surge of power when it does lock up?
Like I said I am learning one step at a time. That's what I like about TDR. A great place to learn about a cummins.
Thanks. wm
