I need to know how many bolts are there suppose to be in the torque converter of my 94 dodge. it is an auto so let me know. I also am wondering why in the morning when i start my truck it revs up for a second. i dont push the pedal or anything it just revs to about 2200 rpm and then drops. i need to know whats going on.

Sorry, but I don't know anything about the torque converter. How long does the engine stay revved before it drops to normal? Does it make any odd noises? A few years ago, my starter contacts were sticking and the starter remained engaged while the engine was running. If I recall correctly, it caused the engine to revv, but I don't think it was to 2200 rpm!!! I can't think of anything causing that other than the throttle sticking, or possibly the fuel shutoff solenoid? Have you tried lubing the throttle rod ends? I'm sure there are some guys here who have experienced the exact same thing before, best of luck in solving your problem. :)

hi, there are six bolts in the converter. i have had them all in my hands too many times. i am not sure about the 2200 rpm thing? i would agree with Willys and check for sticking throttle linkage first. check that nothing is holding against linkage or binding and that it moves freely. hope this helps, Dave.
