I have the dreaded TC lock unlock problem. . Here is what i have done so far to cure but seems to get worse. . Reset APPS/Tested Batteries/Installed Happi Box/Cleaned Gray Connecters on Grounds/Cleaned ground on PCM... I have a Edge Comp and it does it worse with the Comp on... it runs good two days after i reset APPS but then it comes back... I have no codes and it runs strong... I dont know what else to do or check... Plz help

Found a sollution to the lock/unlock problem yet? I have the same, started a few weeks ago.

I have found a lot of posts in here on this, but no one have actually come up with 'the' sollution, only 'it might help' etc.

Would really like to hear if you find out what actually cause this, and what can be done.

You might want to try a noise filter for the transmission. I believe DTT has one, other companies probably do too. That's probably the next-easiest and least-expensive option.

Have you guy's tried the tin foil wrap that was on the home page here a while back that cured some lockup problems?.

Dave

Has the tin foil trick proved to help in several cases? It seemes 'too easy'. And if electrical noise on the ground wire is actually the problem, how bad can dodge have engineered the PCM in the first place? (Maybe I don't want to know the answer to that one).

Thanks for the link anyway, (some tinfoil is soon to find its way under the hood).

Ground to the PCM

I have had same problem for some time and I am telling you guys to run a new ground from the battery to the pcm module. The ground strap they use to ground the pcm, for some reason,is still above ground a few volts in some vehicles. A good ground cures a lot of problems with the pcm. Mine had been fine for months now. Doesnt hurt to try and takes no time at all.

I ordered the DTT filter and should be here today or Monday..... I have re-run a ground from the PCM straight to the battery..... that actually made my problems worse..... when it starts acting up i cant hardly drive it..... I will you guys informed if the DTT filter actually helps.

I tried the tin foil fix and it held for 1,000+miles. Prior to installing the Reynolds Wrap,I couldn't go two days without doing the battery disconnect procedure. Well, the truck started messing up again and installation of the DTT noise filter has fixed it for good now,I hope. Fred Swanson has them@ 623-910-9575

Remove the apps wires from the wire bundle that lead to the ECM. It is a pain in the butt. I hope it works.
