I have a US Gear OD unit installed in my early '91 Ram 250 (3 speed 727 Chrysler transmission), and feel that better performance and gear splitting would be provided if the percentage of TC "slippage" or stall could be reduced for better efficiency. Are there any replacement TC's of known quality and durability available for situations such as mine - and does anyone know what the STOCK stall speed for the EARLY, STANDARD 3 speed AT is in trucks like mine?

Hey there,
If you are in the area , i am working on this very thing.

Anyone , except my competitors of course, that will be in the area and wants to be my guinea pig, call me , keep in mind we need your truck for testing for a minimum of 4 working days.

You get the finished product at cost, all install labor free , and a complete trans overhaul.

91-93 DODGE RAMS ONLY.

ONE ONLY GUYS.
thanks,
Bill

HMMmmm - I don't know what you mean by "in the area" - I'm in California, near Sacramento. My truck is an EARLY '91, pre-overdrive transmission, runs the plain old 727 3-speed. My truck has 103,000 miles on it, and the transmission still shifts like new. Dunno if anything can be worked out, and I'm generally aware of your involvement in the Dodge trannies, so let me know what you have in mind - either here in group, or Email...

I'm interested, but South Florida definitely is NOT in your area. I've been through two tailshaft bearings on my 518, replaced by a reputable private shop. When they did the kit to improve the oiling they didn't bore the passageway bigger because they kept breaking drill bits, so this time I suppose I'll ream it myself!

What we were looking for is a R&D vehicle for 4 days. We want to do different converter stator combinations with different turbine housings.

2)Do you mean the extension housing bushing is wearing out or is the OD support bearing wearing out?

A friend of mine i build his dragracing 727 race transmission for, he had a knack of breaking extension housing bushings and also wearing the extension housing bushings.

Turned out to be a bad yoke. The yoke was off center, its was the only i'd ever seen like that and i havent seen once since.
I would do a close examination of the driveshaft slip yoke.

HEY Purse - that's CamAro, get it, C-A-M-A-R-O, NOT CamEro...

That's as bad as "Cumans", or "cummons"...

'course, the fact that *I* own a '98 CamAro SS MIGHT just make me a bit sensitive on the spelling...

But Hell, Paarse, what's in a name... #ad

Pearce,
That old Camaroe is responsible for that custom racing transmission in your and Mike from Autoworks truck.

I hear he now holds the new 1/4 mile speed record in a Diesel truck.

I suppose of course that BOTHE those trannys broke the day i quit. LOL !

Buddy i guess if you gave correct directions to my shop and those Dodge boys got a chance to drive our truck with a steel stator damn straight you'd be lookin for a new job Monday am. Actually i'd say more like Saturday PM.

P. S. In case you change your mind about the directions thing and maybe forgot the way, ask Steve, you know transmission Steve, honest Bill I dont work for BD steve. LOL !

Hey tell him im not mad at him for doing that, i had good fun with him.

Saw him tonight in the parking lot at Wendys, damn guy turned around and left before i could even wave.

Actually, we put a new pump, turbo, inj. , transmission & one of those cheap BD tc's in the race truck for this season. And it still got good times even with a cheap tc. Guess if we were running one of yours it would have been seconds faster. But what do I know, I can't even spell Camaro without getting in trouble. You gonna be at Tulare?
