Torque Convertor won't lock...

I'm a 1st time diesel owner, bought a 2004. 5 3500 srw in November and am loving the truck. However about a week ago I left the house on a 130 mile trip and the TC wouldnt lock up... tried stopping, shutting off and restarting truck, speeding up, slowing down, etc. finally just set the cruise at 2000 rpm's. After about 15 miles of this all at once it shifted into OD and performed flawlessly the rest of the trip. Next couple days went fine then today same thing, drove 12-15 miles before it shifted into OD. Flashed 2 codes... P 0243 and P 2127. The 2127 has to do with the pps, could that cause this problem?

Its possible, that code is for a potential problem with the APPS.



It could also be the gov pressure solenoid not letting it shift into OD.



Clear the codes and see if they come back or you are going to need to do some more in depth testing.

I borrowed an obd ii reader to clear the codes and it won't clear them... it reads the 2127 code but not the 0243. Ideas?

Probably the APPS then. You might try unplugging and resetting the connections to see if that will help.

I took the truck to my wonderful local carquest and they cleared the codes for me... drove about 8 miles with no problems and check engine light did not come back on... we'll see.

OK, I drove the truck 40 miles last night and got another code... 0243. found a bare/broken wire on the wastegate solenoid so I removed it, soldered the wire and reinstalled it... seems to have fixed that problem. Now the p2127 code is back, I checked all connections, everything seems to be ok. Is there something else I should check or am I gonna have to spend $400+ for a new APPS?
