:) Can anyone give an idea of the torque cirve for my 600? Still on my first tank with 300+ miles on the beast and lovin' it! Larv

The max torque, 600 ftlbs, comes on at 1400 rpm and stays there pretty much all the way through the rpm range. My 01 HO had 350 ftlbs at idle supposedly, not sure what these 600's do at idle...

I just Dyno'd this weekend and Coasty is right. The torque comes on at about 1400 RPM, and stays pretty flat to just past 2700 RPM. My truck has just over 2000 miles on her, and she put down 480# of torque, and about 240 HP at the rear wheels. That is completely stock, no bombs yet. It will only get better with age, and a few mods... ... ... ... Sarge

maybe this thing behaves better than advertzed. The 600 is spec'd by Cummins to acheive 600 ft. lbs starting at 1600. It's not supposed to make 600 ft lbs at 1400.

Here is what www.PickupTruck.com had to say about the torque of the new Cummins:

The performance numbers for the reengineered 5. 9-liter “600” Cummins diesel engine in the 2004 1/2 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 are not only awesome, they’re the best of any heavy-duty pickup:

600 lb-ft of torque at 1600 rpm

440 lb-ft at 1000 rpm; at least 555 lb-ft from 1400 to 2900 rpm

325 horsepower at 2900 rpm
