Okay guys, I know this question is going to sound really dumb to some people, but... what exactly is "torque management", and how is it a bad thing? I have read all the Smarty threads, and read about how the Smarty will take care of the torque management problems.

Torque management is programming on the auto-trans trucks that limits power output in order to save the transmission from an early death. It will not let you power brake over a certain rpm, plus it defuels on shifts (I've been told).

I saw what the Common Rail is capable of this weekend in Redding.

A guy (who I won't name) loaded that new Scary Larry program in his twinned & TST'd CC long bed. Apparently it eliminates torque management. He made it about 60ft down the quarter, maybe less before his trans let go.

The bad part is that it was supposedly a brand new fully built Sun Coast
