Competition SRT-10 Ram

Ok folks - 2 questions.

1. Let's assume that a new Danali advertises say 350 HP and 450 ft lb (not sure of numbers, only using an example) are these similar numbers to what I see at the TDR site, i. e. are they measuring them at the rear wheels etc.

2. What sort of numbers - do gasoline engine have for comparisson on a dyno. Example our V-10, the Ford V-10, the new chevy engines etc?

1. dyno numbers are usually at the rear wheels if posted by a vehicle owner. Manufacturer numbers are at the flywheel, corrected by the SAE procedures. They are net, meaning accessories such as alternator are installed, corrected for temperature, altitude, etc. Drivetrain losses in the range of 20% have been proposed by some who should know. So, 300 net hp would be 300-60=240 hp at the wheels.

2. The V10 Dodge engine should be in the 220 hp range at the wheels. I know of one that had headers, cat-back exhaust, Mopar Perf. computer, special throttle body, etc. and made around 260-270 at the wheels. Torque was around 450-460 if I recall. the Viper (about a 1995) made 363 hp, 435 ft lb. Another Viper, later model, with the Venom 650 package made 520 hp, again at the wheels.

When I was formerly know as VeeTenJeff, I had a Cat back system and the ten would put down 249hp and 410tq. All while getting 7mpg. I had 4. 10 gears.
