I think we have all seen the claims about the PE Module. . and who wouldn't want one... ???

I know from some people that the piercing of the wires that go to the pump WILL LEAVE SIGNS THAT IT WAS INSTALLED. . !!

Granted... the PE solution is more eligant than "Scotch Locks" . . But a simple "Wet Conductivity Test" will show that the insulation was indeed pierced. .

Now. . I also know that the VA box is the choice of stealth bombers out there because it uses the same connectors as the factory setup!

Next issue. . The PE people offer a module specifically designed to work with a VA Box. .

How do we utilize this to out advantage?? Simple. .

Follow me on this one... .

(Stock Setup)Pump--\\---------Factory Harness

(VA Only) Pump--\\-----Va------\\-----Fct. Harn

(STD PE) Pump--\\-------^^-------Fact. Harn

(VA+PE) Pump--\\--^^----Va----\\----Fct. Harn

(ALT. VA+PE) Pump--\\----Va-----^^--\\---Fact. Harn

\\= Factory type connectors

^^ = Piercing type connectors WHERE THE PE TAPS IN!!!

As you can see since PE offers a "With VA Box" cofiguration... the only differance is where the wires get pierced.

If the VA's wires are the ones to be pierced. . then as soon as the VA comes off the truck. . there is NEVER any indication that either the VA or the PE were ever there!

Since I don't have a box I am doing this from memory (looked at several at MM). It seems to me that I was told that on all of the boxes (other than the VA) the connection MUST be made to the wire that comes out of the injection pump. If this is the case your wiring diagram will not work. Someone jump in here if I'm wrong.

larry , i think the PE for use with VA is just a lower fueling curve to keep smoke in check , i get some good smoke in level 2 and hot #3 is approaching HVAC proportions ... #ad
, its a good thought but i don't think its possible.

edit ... larry what is needed is for VA to incorporate a boost module into there box with another factory connector , and have it work like the PE , the only problem , and its not a problem to all just us HP junkies , is that there is only a certian amount of fueling allowed in the electronics on the pump. the VA must be used with other products to get higher HP , and unfortunately VA only seems interested in getting our BOMBING dollars instead of taking the EXTRA time to release a COMPLETE product.

Larry,

Rick and Mopar are correct. The PE, TST, and BB all pierce a wire on the pump, not one of the wires in the harness where the VA plugs in.

The wire being pierced by these boxes has no connector on either end. That's why it has to be pierced.
