I'm looking to buy my 2nd 1st gen truck next weekend and I'm having a tough time deciding between 2 trucks. The main purpose of this truck will be my daily driver 10 miles a day round trip and as the tow rig for my other 1st gen W250 project that I'm soon to get started on.
The 2 trucks I'm deciding on are a 1992 D250 club cab auto 120'000 miles fresh paint, new tires, no rust and in general clean all around. Does a have a dent in the drivers door and A/C system will need some attention. The A/C supposedly has been converted in the past to 134A. I can get it for 7k

The 2nd truck is a 91.5 W250 reg cab auto with 329k miles no rust, lots of new brake parts including master cylinder and booster, calipers, hoses, new inner and outer axle seals in the front and new u-joints in the axle shafts. Its red with the white stripe in the middle and it looks as if the clear coat is gone mostly from the passenger side bed in the white area and in a few spots on the passenger side door and front fender. The hood is a little faded also nut again no rust. A/C and heat works and claims no oil leaks. Asking $8500 firm
Considering my usage is there 1 that's would be more recommended than the other? If so what's your reason? I realize its a loaded question and is really down to personal preference but its a tough choice.

Below is my 91 that's going to get a complete frame off with lots of upgrades under the hood and below. Plan to keep her looking completely stock as she is now when done

Good looking truck. My choice would be the 92, first, low mileage, second I love the club cabs, drove a 77 with 360 gas over a hundred thousand miles. bg

BIG diff in wear and tear between 120k and 329k miles...of course you need to be able to trust the lower figure, but I am assuming you already know that.

Also, low mileage and being a Club Cab will hold value better then the other truck.

Thanks! I am really leaning towards the club cab just to have something different. and as seafish said the difference in wear and tear is pretty substantial

Just thought I would update on what happened with this saga. I had is setup and price agreed upon for the blue one and was going to pick it up yesterday as it's about a 230 mile drive each way from me. When we got to the part of me telling him I needed the vin number so I could get a trip permit and insurance on it to drive it back and if course run a history check on it he went radio silent on me. I'm not one to beg someone to sell me there truck so I hit up the guy with the 4x4 one close to me and wanted to meet him and buy is Friday morning since I had already dropped the other guy in Waco. He told me yes I could come see it Friday morning to which I asked if after 9 would be ok as I needed to stop by the credit union and get some more cash out to meet his price and also asked where are we meeting? Guess what radio silence!

I ended up dropping the hammer Thursday night on a 91.5 4x4 local to me and got a pretty good deal on her. She needs a little TLC but will serve her purpose great for what I need it for. It's also got a set of airbags in the rear
