Was wondering how many of you drive non-towing with the two-haul mode on. Pros and cons doing so. I just drove down to NE Oregon from NE Washington and going back north tomorrow and plan to make the trip with the Tow-Haul on to compare mpg. It was 18.4 hand Calculated doing 70 MPH on the highway coming down. Lots of rolling hills and also curious about shift point changes and RPM's when it down-shifts to 5th gear. There were times on the longer grades when it seemed to be lugging but did not shift down.

You'll find that most of us drive with TH/EB all the time, towing or not. I tried to make myself drive without either one for a week, but I caved after a few days. If it wasn't for the TH/EB feature, my 2016 would have a G56.

T/H all the time, towing or not. T/H keeps my engine from lugging around town and allows the exhaust brake to be more aggressive, helping save service brakes. I've heard that using T/H and EB all the time is GOOD for the engine, because it keeps the vanes on the turbo moving all the time.

I'm curious about this too. I drive about 80 highway miles roundtrip daily to work and the only time I use TH is a couple times a month when I use a bumper pull trailer to haul about a ton of horse hay. The EB noise drives me up a wall so I never use it either but guess I would if I thought it would be a benefit to the engine or components. I'm not an aggressive driver and barely see any turbo pressure indicated except when maybe going up an incline. I just went past 36k miles last week and I've never had any issues with error codes so figured I must be doing something right but if there is definitely a plus to the engine longevity I'll change my style..........Don

After driving two Dodge Cummins for over twenty years with a five and a six speed, I'm perfectly happy to just put in Drive and let the truck do its thing.....it's pretty smart:-laf I usually turn on the EB a couple of times a week for a ride to or home from work. Don't need Tow/haul for that.......

I use EB probably 90% of the time. Only recently I have started using T/H when I am in stop and go traffic (going through town, neighborhoods etc) only because it stays in each gear a little longer and avoids lugging. On my daily commute (mostly highway) I have not found it beneficial.

Empty on the highway, I don't use Tow/Haul at all. I do use it in suburban/local driving around my home area because it's hilly and TH holds gears longer.

Thanks for all the replies. I use tow-haul with exhaust brake when driving in heave stop and go city traffic and it sure saves on use of the breaks. On the highways I only set the exhaust break on 1/2 way.
Will add the information from my trip north tomorrow.
