Tow mirror flip up part swap

Recently damaged the flip up part of my tow mirror. Ordered a used mirror from ebay and when it arrived, the forward mounting bold had been sheared off during shipping. Instead of going through the pan in the @$$ of shipping it back for a new one, is it possible to switch the "flip up" portion from one arm to the other? That's the only part that is damaged on the one currently on my truck. I haven't tried to take it apart to see, because I don't want to break anything then not be able to return it at all. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

From what know it is not possible to separate this parts.

Good luck trying to take apart, I watch neighbor try broke arm in several pieces.
