Tow mirror repair

I have an '05 with the power tow mirrors and the driver's side mirror will not lock in the middle position anymore. It will lock in the folded position but does not lock in the driving position. The local Dodge folks tell me there's no repair for this and I need to purchase a new mirror and I was hoping someone might have experienced the same problem and found a repair, not including duct tape... .

Smile if you want, but I used Gorilla tape to temp. fix a visiting friend's mirror, so she could make her 400 mi. trip back home.

That was over two years ago.

She called a while back and said "I didn't like the idea of you fixing the mirror on my new van with tape. But after getting home, and completely forgetting about it, after two years, it's still rock solid. "

Sometimes it's "Any port in a storm"
