tow mirror swap, 2nd. gen to 3rd. gen?

good morning all! i just bought a 04.5 3500 w/ tow mirrors, they are manual & one is scuffed. i have brand new power/heated tow mirrors i bought for the 98 Ram i am selling & was hoping i could use them on the 04.... the base is different,. but the pivots look to be the same [the mirrors come from LMC truck, sorry GENOS! did'nt know of you then!] does any one have knowledge in this? i can deal w/switches. thanks! There are instructions to put the 3rd head on the 2nd gen mounts. I believe it worked on early 3 gen mirrors only. Maybe you can reverse those instructions. Snoking

thanks! do you know were i can find these instructions? i expect to find springs in the pivots & dont care for some 'hook my nose' action! MATTHEW

Search the 2nd gen forum non drive train. However it was based on OEM mirrors not after market ones. SNOKING
