Tow Prep Package w/optional 4-way connector

I just bought a 2005 3500 Laramie with the Tow Package, which apparently only included the 7-pin connector. After reading the manual (as a last resort, mind you) I discovered that the 4-way connector under the dash is an option to the optional tow prep package.



My question, where do I get this 4-way connector and where then do I hook this gadget into? The manual states that this 4-way can be found to the left of the brake pedal under the dash. There is some kind of ribbon connector sticking out right below the dash, but it has more than 4 connectors. I presume this is the connector for the test equipment, etc.



I just bought the Prodigy controller with the OEM Dodge quick-connect wiring harness. I was hoping this would be an easy 1,2, 3 but I was wrong... .

NO! you are not wrong--stuffed up under the dash is a connector that will plug right into your direct wire harness for the Prodigy. I only looked for mine about 20 minutes before I found it--look on the left side of the steering column (while facing it) and tucked way up high near the back you will find what you need, I had a friend who bought an 05 spend several hours looking before he drove up here and said --OK you find it!! I guess this is just some more of DC humor

Hey, sure enough, behind that white module, tucked away in the way out of reach areas, there was this blue connector. Thanks for giving me the detailed directions on where to look. Whoever installed the connector used enough tape to reach from CA to NY...



Maybe this is another way the service techs at the dealerships can charge a customer $85 for a job that takes about 5 mins, once you locate the connector.

Thanks for the tip, I looked for mine for about 5 minutes yesterday without success and I knew it was there. I think I was looking in the wrong area. I spent the time looking where it was in my 2nd gen.
