Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Beretta PX4 Storm!

Doesn't look like you could tow that thing without a "Wide Load" banner on the back!

It's cool though.

I was just thinking that I've never seen a boat on a trailer that had a Cummins in it as far as I know. That's a heavy motor for a boat, and I was wondering if you'd need a wider beam to support it, or if it doesn't matter. I believe the max you can tow, width-wise, is 8'6", and I'm sure there are exceptions.

Oh I think you could repower a smaller ski boat such as a corrrect craft, etc with a Cummins. Or perhaps a shamrock maybe. You would want a straight inboard for sure as an outdrive wouldn't last too long.

The issue with a small boat will be getting a large enough diameter wheel to absorb the horsepower.

There are a lot of boats in the 22'-26' range with Cummins power.

Or Yanmars..... ours has a Yanmar... . 24'

Got to yachtworld.com and type in Cummins as a keyword, and maybe 18 to 27 feet as a size.

Many to choose from actually.

If you really want a Cummins powered boat. You are going to have to custom order a boat form any boat manufacture that is power by a Mercruiser and request if they would be will to install a Cummins Mercusier Diesel engine in the place of the gas engine.
The latest and greatest Mercuiser engines Diesel or gas use Mercury Smartcraft shift and throttle by wire so the change should be very easy.

cmmarine.com has all Cummins 4 and 6 cylinder in V drive, Direct drive, Stern drive and even Jet drives.

That's cool!
Looked like an aluminum boat too. Imagine what twin turbos would do in that thing with about 450 horses!

Thanks for the replies guys. I like that one on the gooseneck.

Cummins MerCruiser Diesel for pics and specs.

Almost all trailered boats here in the US are gas engines. They are mainly overseas in Europe and Austraulia. If you do find any here, they are VolvoPenta diesels. MUCH better on a stern drive boat than the Merc/Cummins.

I wanted to do a conversion on my SeaRay. It would be a 35K bill by the time I got done. Only paid 10 for the boat.

If you go to Sea Ray and spec out a 260 or a 280 Sundancer, you can pick the diesel option, and then be prepaired for sticker shock!!!
