I was asked to tow a truck 640 miles for a friend, i have a 1995 4x4 2500 auto. ive got a #6 plate, and an AFE, i was wondering if i can tow in overdrive if i am moving fast enough, or should i keep it off? also, is there anything else i need to keep in mind? the truck probably weighs about 8000lbs and i have a 25' bumper pull flatbed..... will this be a problem for my truck?

Thanks for any help

Unless your transmission keeps hunting in and out of overdrive, overdrive will be fine. You are not towing that much weight.

I would not pull this with a ball mounted in your bumper. You need an equalizer hitch mounted in the hitch receiver.

well, yea its not on the bumper, i have a 2" reciver, but not a equalizer hitch, as it is a pintle hitch... when i said bumper hitch i mostly meant to say it wasnt a fifth wheel or gooseneck
