I would have posted this in the towing forums but after looking in there for a while it seems to be more about the towED equipment than the towER.
What is the high limit for sustained EGTs and or RPMs? I am carrying a
9 1/2' Slide in and a 12' enclosed tandem axle trailer with toys. At 70 MPH I am running @ 900-1000 Deg. @ 1800 RPMs. This is on flat running on the freeway in OD. If I run at 55 MPH for Johnny Law I am at 1500 RPMs, 1100 Deg and the engine sounds strained. So a shift to 3rd brings the Rs to 2000 and EGTs are 750-800. On a hard pull in OD from 1500 RPM on up to 2200 I'll get a max of 1200 Deg.
So I guess what I am asking is "how high for how long"?
