It's like an overdrive gear. And the transmission will drive it'self and you crazy jumpin in and out of overdrive when you've slowed down with weight going up hill. So just by pass that gear. Also used to help slow your whole rig going, down hill.

I dont know about the newer ones, but my 92 did just fine in OD with a non-locking TC one year towing up to 12K up and down I-25.



I wouldnt use the T-H for less than 5000#, unless the quality has really gone down in the last 15 years.
