I pulled the trigger on a 3500 QCDRW this year in expectation of slight problems with the 2007 6. 7 CTD. Both my 2004. 5 & 2006 had 4. 10s and I felt that the reverse in the 48re and the first gear were not low enough to pull & back into the graded camping spots that I frequent. There are a few grades inside campgrounds on the BlueRidge that if I have to stop and get going again it really strains the transmission. :-{}
I know the specs on the new CTD/6 speed auto look real good to cure this problem. What I have started doing is once I get inside the campgrounds I simply place the transmission in low/4x4 and creep to the campsite. This has worked real well.
I don't abuse the transmission and it works great. :-laf
This is a photo of my old RV. But you can see the grade of the hair-pin turn.

Any ideas?
