I picked up my trailer (a 32’ gooseneck car trailer made by Quality Trailer) on Friday (3/31), I had installed a B&W Hitch last weekend. I have only towed the trailer empty for about 50 miles, when I unhooked it from the truck (today 4/2) and saw the ball I became concerned. It appears as though the trailer and ball were not seated correctly, however it latched and locked without an issue. Please take a look at the pictures below, the pictures labeled ball are of the B&W ball which now has a groove worn in it, the pictures labeled hitch are of the gooseneck. I’m not sure what to do at this point, I afraid it’s not safe to use but can’t understand what’s not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Terry

Good Day I Had a ball hitch and it was good to the point when I got hit in the back of the trailer and the ball broke off. Now I'm using a Binklys 40k 5th wheel. but that is not normal. I would get that looked at fast good luck

Am I missing something here? I don't see any sort of grease or other lubrication on the ball or the hitch. I don't over lube, but if it is metal on metal it would wear. The trailers that I have hauled with my B&W were not new and had some grease in the hitch for lube. Just my . 02

Most certainly need some grease in there, not much though ... but I think there is another problem, maybe a bad weld or something inside the coupler ... whatever it is/was needs to be replaced ... I would be dropping the lower part of the hitch out of the trailer and taking it and the ball back to the place you bought the trailer and get them to swap the hitch and ball out ... I would not tow the trailer anymore until you get those swapped out.

I have a B/W turnover and besides needing greased, there is something else not right there. I have towed heavey with mine alot and it does not look like that. :( Looking at the pics, you gooseneck looks like it did not allow the ball all the way in. Is there a size difference here, thats what I see looking at the inside of the gooseneck? Could be wrong, but I am wondering :(

Most definetly get it back to the dealer and have them get you fixed up. There's something up in the hitch that is not supposed to be there. I would have thought the hitch wasn't all the way in or something but looking at the ball there is rub marks on the top of it so even if it were a mismatch the trailer still is sitting on the top of the ball. Dealer needs to address trailer manu and get you a new ball and trailer repaired.

Well the problem is being resolved, it's a weld seam on the sleeve on the inside of the reveiver on the trailer, the manufacturers are send me a replacement.

Thanks for all of the feedback
