new c/c 4500 trailer wireing?

I have had 3 sets of Kool Vue towing mirrors for my 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 and I cant get them to work in my truck. They blows fuses and always one (first it was the drivers side and the 3rd time it's the passenger side) won't work properly - going side to side and down ok, but won't go up. Then I put my stock ones back on and everything works fine. I just don't understand it. Kool Vue claims to have tested this and everything is fine in the testing but when they get to my truck there is always a problem. I plug both in the same. Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks, I appreciate it. :{

I Can't Explain It But I Got Tired Of It, Tried 3 Different Types Of Aftermarkets And Had Electrically Problems Or They Started To Vibrate So Bad You Couldn't See Behind You And I Got A Headache Trying. Read All About The 3rd Gen Coversion And Didn't Want To Spend The Time, Finally Bought A 02' Towing Mirror Conversion Kit From Dodge For About $250 Which Is Less Than The Cost Of One Mirror Not Buying The Kit, Yes They Are Manual But They Don't Blow Fuses And Don't Vibrat And I Am Tickled To Death With Them When Pulling My 30' Horse Trailer Or My 25' Tandon Dual With Hay And Both Are 108" Wide

Thanks, it's good to know I'm not crazy or alone. What is the part # for the Towing Mirror Conversion Kit From Dodge? I'm not familar with it - never heard of it actually. How does the kit work?

I put these on my truck and so far they have worked great. DODGE RAM 2500 3500 02 HEAT HD POWER TOWING TOW MIRRORS

I have noticed that from the side you can see the wires behind the glass, shouldn't be a big deal. I f you need the backing plates for the mirrors you can get them through fenderworld and also the nuts to mount the mirrors come with them. So far I am glad I put them on the truck not a single problem.

Why not try McKesh mirrors they clip on and if installed properly they work fine. I've put 70,000 miles towing using these mirrors and love them.

part number for the kit is 82206157, it's under accessories, the only way to go, 2 mirrors for less than the price of one out of the regular parts book, has everything you need, nuts, back plates, they even incude a few of the little yellow snaps that will tighten your door panel, include a plug where your old elec. mirror control went, I was so sick of sc****ng with it I pulled my control to remove all signs I'd ever had elec. heated mirrors, took me about 30 mintues to install both mirrors and I'm not a mechanic, you should gave $250 at Elders Dodge in Athens because I buy lots of stuff there, send me a message if I can help further, we just got caught in the body style change
