I have a buddy here at the firestation who is looking for the fold out towing mirrors... is there anybody who is selling theirs or knows the best place to get them?

thanks guys

I got mine from a local dealer/friend, paid about $200 and change, I found them HERE for less, and I know people who've ordered them here without trouble. :)

this may be a stupid question but on the link it says for 2002 4 doors only... . do they mean just the body style. . and it willl fit 94 and up... or does it mean the new 1/2 ton 4 doors?

mirrors

Mckinney Dodge in Dallas has them in stock. $196. 00 for the kit.

Part # 82206157

There phone is 972-569-9650 ext 1105.

I installed them a week or so ago, piece of cake. No more heated, or power mirrors though.

The kit will fit 94 and up. They are not power, the new 2002 are. I am not sure if the new power mirror kit will fit with the older style plugs. It's abit inconvenient, but that's what the passenger is for:-laf

I think The reference to the 2002 is the pic. Could be wrong, but I know they work cause I have these on my 96. Just wish the powered ones were available when I bought em:rolleyes: .

Are you saying the flip out towing mirrors are power for 2002? The picture looked like the original manual mirrors. Or are you talking about the new mirrors on the 1500?

The 1500's are power adjustable and heated... . the 2500/3500's are still non-power/non-heat. I have a pair of each sitting on the kitchen floor at home that I'm gonna meld together to get the power and heat shell onto the old-body-style base. Stay tuned-hopefully in the next couple days or so I'll get it done!

Jason is correct, although it is my understanding that power/heated flip up mirrors will available on the 2003 models (2500 and 3500). Still waiting for Jason's prototype!!:D

Assuming that this hybred towing mirror works, what do those of us who do not have the power mirror switches installed need to do to add them. My truck was built with the non-power towing mirrors. I assume the wiring is in place, and only the switches need to be added.

I'm also gonna assume Ken that the trucks are wired for the mirrors and it would be a simple matter of installing the switches to do the deal. My brother has a '98-I may be able to persuade him to let me pull back 1 door panel and the dash to look for the connectors. When I get the conversion done between the 2 sets (notice I said when not if :D -too much money into this project now!) we're gonna give it a go on a 2001 with the factory tows on it already-so then we'll find out for sure.

If I'd have been a good boy last night and stayed home I may have gotten the foot swap done. Instead I went out bingeing and didn't accomplish anything! :D. Days off coming up for me this weekend so by midweek next week I should have them completed and on the truck and be able to give a rundown of exactly what is entailed in the swap! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it anyways.....
