Towing set up

Ok, I know that there are a thousand different ways to make more power with our trucks. I use my truck primarily as a daily driver and every few weeks to tow my 5'ver. Right now I am running a Quadzilla XZT box good for a claimed 65HP and 160TQ. It is just about perfect for my needs. However, just like everyone else on this site... I want a little more power. I am looking into a safe, reliable way to increase my output without doing damage to more expensive parts like my transmission. When I return from Afghanistan I will be getting a new exhaust and intake, and was also looking at getting some sort of adjustable box. I am considering the Edge Juice with Attitude, Q-Zilla with Commander, Bully Dog etc... . I like the boxes that have in-cab adjustability along with the electronic monitors.



I know the general consensus here is to get a Smarty... and I have not ruled that out yet. I am just concerned that if I have the ability to add that much power, then I will... . and broken parts will follow. Any inputs will be appreciated... . again, I am mainly looking for good power for towing that won't put EGT's through the roof, or a transmission on the ground. Thanks guys.

do you have a intake, exhaust, or gauges?

I think you should get those first, then maybe a Smarty

I do have mechanical guages... . I was looking into getting one of the electronic units like the commander that watches several functions at once. I also currently have a K&N drop-in filter... . but I will be getting a new complete intake set up along with a new exhaust once I get home. I will have a few extry dollars to burn so I am looking at doing it all at once. Thanks for the input... . keep em coming. Anyone else out there who primarily tow have a good set-up that works well without any transmission mods?
