I have 265's on my truck, and 225's on my Suburban. I want taller tires on the 'burb, so here's my thinking: If I replace the 'burb's tires with something taller, and put the 225's on Dodge rims, I could swap them onto the truck whenever I tow our 25. 5' 5er as I have an auto and 3. 54's, in essence realizing a somewhat higher geared rear end. Does this line of thinking make sense to anyone else?

Check the load rating of the 225's. Are they made for 16" rims?

I've thought that I might replace my 265's with 245's when they wear out so that the truck will sit a little lower and also give a slightly better drive ratio. The 245's are also $25 cheaper each.

Ken, thanks for the reply. The 225's are on 16" rims, and I think they're D rated, although I haven't checked the load rating (or thought of it). I wish some of the other 50 who read my post would give me their thoughts.

It would work, but I'm just not sure its neccessary. How much does the trailer weigh? If the Sub is 8 lug, the pattern is the same.

My Blazer on the trailer is about 8000 lbs, I run 255/85R16 (~33"), and have never thought it was too tall. Running empty or towing my boat, I'd still like another OD on the Interstate.
