Any interest in moving a dually?

Help, no marker lights.

Extreme grades.

We made a trip to BlueRidge mountains around Spruce Pine/Linville Falls, NC this weekend. Made 4 videos which did not turn out as good as I would have liked. The sound is mainly wind and I would have hoped the turbo and engine noise with eBrake would have come out more. 2 videos are entering BearDen Campground and backing into site which are both tough. The other 2 are on Parkway and 221 South by Linville Falls. All were extreme grades. Travel looks kinda fast but it was 30-35mph.

Sorry about the watermark, I am using a trial version of software.

Great video's, looked like something from Nascar! Especially liked the last one-camera on the roof? You must have a sunroof. I was waiting for you to put the rig into that "runaway truck ramp". Sure looked like you were going fast, didn't it?

How steep were those grades? . . Out here in the Rocky mountains, we know what grades are..... 6%--8% and 6, 7, or 9 miles long !! Nice blueridge area though. very green.

I grew up in Southern California. I am a Desert Rat. I live in Salt Lake now. Elev. 4300'. and my wife and I go out to Moab, (5500'). Passes to get there is 8000' and the local desert. 4300'... . Went up to Glacier a couple years ago,8-10,000' and to Oregon. .

Hi Eric,

My wife and I were in Moab several years ago and loved it. We often say if we went back out west again we wanted to re-visit Moab again.

The short hill going into the BearDen campground and backing into the site was probable 10%.

The short pull on the Parkway at places was 8-10%.

The 4 miles downhill by Linville Falls was probably 6-8% at most.

The most impressive to me is our 68rfe and how easy it backs into out site uphill and almost done at an idle. Our 06 with 48re has to scream to do it.

Nice videos'. How large of a 5er were you towing?

We were on the Blue Ridge parkway in VA and NC, this late spring and early summer. Spent a week and a half on the Blue Ridge. Then we went on to Nashville TN for 4 days.

The best place for camping I thought was in Asheville NC, at Lake Powhatan. This was a COE park with full hooks ups for $30 a night, a 50 AMP site. Site was level an on a gravel pad with a cement picnic table. My only complaint was the service roads were narrow and curvey to the campsite. The site we had I needed to back into from the RH side, that was a treat. Even the ranger said it might be difficult to do and if we needed another site that was not occupied take it an then let them know. The only problem was there were not many full hook up sites with 50 AMPS that were not already occupied.

Jim,

My DayDreamer is a 37' model and full length is 40'+. We normally gross 26,500#s. I know where Lake Powatan is. My family has a summer home about 10 miles from there. When I was a kid we were at Lake Powatan and saw a dead rattler that was as big around as my dad's upper leg. (above his knee).

Best campground on BlueRidge is Bear Den @ Spruce Pine area. They are actually on parkway. Sites are 2500 feet off parkway and out of the way.
